Congratulations to our female athlete of the week!
Reece Fiwchuk, an Ambrose University Education student, has proved her reliability and versatility every time she steps onto the pitch. The ever present Centre Back played every moment against some of the strongest competition in the ACAC, and worked to keep the teams composure through all 180 minutes.
Fiwchuk's determination, strength, and mental fortitude helped steady our Lions during the highs and lows of an intense weekend.
Male Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to our male athlete of the week!
First-year goalkeeper, Noah Nielsen, played a pivotal role in leading the Ambrose Lions men's soccer team to an undefeated weekend. He earned his first career clean sheet in a hard-fought 0–0 draw against Lethbridge on Saturday, then came on in the 44th minute on Sunday against Red Deer Polytechnic to help secure a 2–1 victory. Across both matches, Noah kept his personal record undefeated and did not concede a single goal all weekend.
Nielsen has already emerged as one of the conference's top goalkeepers. He currently ranks third in the ACAC and leads the ACAC South Division with a .846 save percentage, backed by 22 total saves. He also leads the rookie class for goalkeepers in the ACAC. His consistency, composure, and ability to deliver in pressure moments have provided the Lions with a steady presence in goal, instilling both confidence and momentum in the squad.
