Female Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to our female athlete of the week!

Ashlyn Zylstra - WVB

The rookie left side from Chilliwack made a name for herself this weekend with two massive performances against the SAIT Trojans. In the team's first of two five set battles, Ashlyn Zylstra made 14 kills against the south rival with another 16 kills in their victory! Her play has shown the potential of this young athlete beautifully, with an unbelievably high ceiling for success. With playoffs just ahead and the Lions already clinching a spot, Zylstra has put herself in a great position moving forward.

The team heads into the final weekend of play against the Red Deer Queens this weekend, when they honour their six graduating lions during the Friday Night Senior Celebration!

Male Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to our male athlete of the week!

Noah Verhoef - MVB

Noah Verhoef was instrumental in not only this weekend, but this entire season leading up to this historic achievement by the Lions. His collective 28 kills, seven aces, 36 points and veteran leadership allowed the team to come together perfectly and head into the final weekend of regular season play with their heads held high.

Ambrose University claimed two wins over the SAIT Trojans this weekend, and clinched their spot to the ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history!
