Female Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to our female athlete of the week!
Jenelle Martens - WVB
Jenelle Martens, a second year outside hitter, was able to not only maintain a consistent pressure on her serve this weekend, but she was able to be steadfast in the backcourt on defense, allowing us the ability to push pressure and find success. Her presence allowed her seven digs, six points, and five kills on the stats sheet. This performance was necessary for the Lions to sweep both games this weekend without sacrificing a single set.

Male Athlete of the Week
Congratulations to our male athlete of the week!
Paulo Cuesta - MBB
Paulo Cuesta, a second year guard from Cochrane, AB, showed the best performance of his college career this past weekend with a collective 29 points against the Olds Broncos (Friday with 12 and Saturday with 17). Not only was Cuesta reliable shooting from the field, his ball distribution lending itself perfectly to the success of his team in its entirety. His ability to drive the basket, read the court and pull up from long if necessary were the driving force behind a two-win weekend for the Lions. This weekend has put Ambrose 6-6 on the semester, a vast improvement from the 2024-25 season. he Ambrose Lions are looking to continue their success into next weekend when Ambrose Fan Appreciation is underway against the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks.
